Battling Bots, Brats, and Beer: An Unforgettable Night of Robotics and Revelry

Get ready to rumble at the Hands-On Science Center's (HOSC) Battling Bots, Brats, and Beer! event on August 10th from 5pm - 9pm! This night is more than just a typical robot tournement; it's a PARTY, a celebration of innovation, and the spirit of STEM, all wrapped up in a unique fundraiser supporting HOSC's educational endeavors. This event will be part of the HOSC STEM Soiree: Where Adults Play! event series! Prepare to engage in a tournament like no other, where fun meets fierce competition and every participant contributes to fostering a love for science and technology in our community.

*Remember this is a 21 year old plus event. All drivers, crew members, and spectators will be required to show ID. Children will be entertained in the auditorium by HOSC staff (sorry 18-20 year olds). Childcare will be limited for safety and fun. Register and then secure your childcare tickets ASAP.

Why Your Bot Should Compete?

  • Limited Entry for Maximum Spotlight: With only 6 slots for beetleweight bots and 6 for bots of ant weight class, your mechanical warrior will have ample opportunity to shine in the arena.
  • A Tournament with a Twist: Enjoy the rigor of a double elimination format, ensuring every bot battles its way through victory and redemption rounds.
  • Beyond Battle – A Festival of Challenges: The excitement doesn't stop at the tournament. Participate in special contests such as the crowd-pleasing Rumbles, the strategic Balloon Popping contest, and the exhilarating Total Destruction contest.
  • A Cause Worth Fighting For: Every ticket sold fuels HOSC's mission to bring engaging STEM education to our community, making every clash of the bots a step towards a brighter, science-savvy future.
  • An Evening of Indulgence: This 21+ event pairs the thrill of robotics with the simple pleasures of brats and beer. Your entry includes a complimentary brat and your choice of beer, house wine, or soda, with a cash bar available for further enjoyment.
  • More than Competitors – You're Our Guests: Whether you're behind the remote or cheering from the sidelines, your $20 entry fee grants you full access to the festivities, including the same refreshments and privileges as all our guests.
  • Family-Friendly Fun, Worry-Free: We're making it easy for parents to participate with free childcare available on-site. Space is limited, so be sure to register early to guarantee a spot for your little ones.

Registration Details: In the spirit of inclusive fun and to ensure as many enthusiasts as possible can join, we're initially limiting registration to one robot per driver.
