Event Description
It's time for a Robot Battle! Hosted by Vector Space at The City Armory in Downtown Lynchburg.
Location:
1200 Church Street
Lynchburg, VA 24504
There will be tables to work on in the pits along with access to power outlets.
Sub sandwhiches will be provided free of charge for competitors at lunchtime.
Schedule:
Event is Saturday, Nov 21, 2026
- Check-in starts at 9am
- Briefing, Weigh-in, and Safety Check at 9:30am
- Fights 10:30am - 3:00pm
Fights will alternate weight classes when possible.
Arena:
Antweights & Plastic Ants: 8'x8'x4' enclosed arena with wooden floor and raised pit.
Format:
Fights in all weight classes will be 2:30 minutes.
All weight classes will compete in a double elimination tournament to decide the respective champions in their weight classes. In the event there are 5 or less robots in a class, the robots will fight round robin. Each robot will be guaranteed 2 fights at the minimum presuming they stay functional. If time permits on Saturday afternoon, grudge matches, rumbles, and/or other special exhibitions may occur. If fights do not end in a knockout, a team of judges will judge accordingly (using simplified judging criteria).
SPARC rules (Robot Construction Specifications v1.3) apply.
Plastic Ant:
Approved materials are printed PET, PETG, ABS, PLA, PLA+, and TPU.
Motors,wheels, fasteners, and electronics do not need to be printed, but must not be a significant structural part of the bot.
Any non printed parts should not be exposed in a way that they can be hit, or hit another bot. The bot should be as much 3d printed as possible.
Prizes
Trophies, gift cards, and merch will be awarded to top 3 competitors in each weight class.
