Event Description
Welcome to the NOR'EASTER Robot Combat Club's first open, public event! We've rented the gymnasium at the old Coverdale school - now the Big Dreams Club - for the day and will host a meet-and-greet and friendly "proof of concept" fairyweight (150g) tournament, as well as some whiteboard matches and other fun stuff we'll have in store! Come join us on Saturday, October 11 - we'll be setting up in the morning (we have a 4 foot x 4 foot x 2 foot arena with polycarbonate walls) and doing pre-checks around noon, with fights aiming to start around 1pm (more detailed schedule to come)
Builders, get ready! We are looking for a minimum of 8 combatants for two round-robin groups. Individual fights will be scored and the top two machines of each group will cross over and fight each other in elimination brackets until we've crowned a winner!
We have trophies done and, while it is our first event, we hope to get lots of interest and film lots of great battles to show to the community, and start growing our presence here on the east coast of Canada. As this is our first event, we won't be charging registration fees - but we will have a donation bucket if anyone wants to help cover expenses!
