Event Description
This is a very special event. We have partnered up with GigaParts and Robo-Rumble for this Clash of Champions Event. Robo-Rumble is a seperate event for local schools to compete with their combat robot clubs.
For the school teams that only want to compete in the Robo-Rumble event, please register your team and bots at: Home | RoboRumble combat robotics
Any team competing with the Robo-Rumble School competition is welcome to also register for the RCCR event and experience the open competition.
Thanks to Robo-Rumble, this event is free for both competitors and the audience!
The RCCR arena will be setup outside of Giga-Parts. As space is available, the pit area will be inside the store. Tables and chairs provided for pits. Plan to bring extension cords and power strips if needed, I will have a few but not enough for everyone.
We are planning to have a food truck on site. There are also several restaurants near by for food. Bottled water will be allowed inside the pit area.
We are organizing this event partly to hold a mini tournament, and partly to help introduce combat robots to the local school clubs to further promote the STEM activities. If we do not have enough robots signed up for a tournament, this will be treated as a test and tune day where anyone will have access to the arena to test up to Beetleweight bots. I will send an email out to all registered teams if we make the switch from a tournament to a test and tune day.
GigaParts will open at 9am. We plan to have the arena setup and start the activities around 10:30am and wrapping up the day by 5pm.
The arena is 6' x 6', steal floor, and one corner has an Out of the Arena Zone. SPARC rules apply, if you plan to bring a robot with an unusual weapon please let me know ahead of time for approval. If you have any questions please send an email or contact us through the Rocket City Combat Robots Facebook page.
